I always enjoy the time together with couples, getting to know them and generally having a bit of a laugh whilst at the same time capturing some images.

I find that having a pre-wedding shoot or engagement session as it is sometimes called is generally useful for everyone involved. It allows the couple to get used to me, it also allows me to get to know the couple a bit more also and more importantly, it allows the couple to get used to having a camera in front of them for a lot of the time. Keeping in mind that on the wedding day, they will be in demand from all the guests to stand and pose and it wont just be me looking to take pictures.

What was really special about this wedding was that they did not know I was going to be there documenting the day as it was organised by their friend who was also Amy’s bridesmaid. Amy and Stephen were just such a ball to work with and were more than happy to do anything that was asked of them and it will show when I release more images shortly.

I have lived in Ireland and in Oranmore now for coming up to 5 years and I was always fascinated by this castle.

What is more intriguing about it is that it is currently owned and lived in by the oldest surviving submarine commander from World War II, Commander Bill King. Such an interesting chap and with such an amazing zest for life and what a list of accomplishments he has to his name.

In general I do not take many landscapes as I tend to find I do not have the patience to wait for the “right light” but this was simply impossible not to capture. So I thought I would share it with you all.
